Jane Austen Christian Encounters Series By Peter Leithart Published by Thomas Nelson

This is a very interesting book detailing the life of Kane Austen through much research and her personal letters. It was very informative and shows a perspective of the author's life that I found surprising. We learn about not only Miss Austen's life but about her personality. When we think of Jane Austen, we think of  a sweet hopeless romantic but she was more feisty and rebellious then we thought! While I enjoyed the book, some of the information seems to be interpretation of possibilities derived from letters and not necessarily factual. Since we can't hear Miss Austen's voice in her letters we can guess at how she intended to sound but we will never know if we have interpreted it correctly. That said it is still a good read and I would highly suggest it for fans of the incomparable Jane Austen.

The Language of Love and Repect

This is a great book! Dr. Emerson Eggerichs writes using his personal and professional experiences with an emphasis on strong biblical principles. It makes one feel good to know that absolutely everyone at some point has a struggle with comunication. No one is exempt!! He leads you through this enjoyable book usiung everyday speech that makes his advice clear and easy to follow. If you are in a difficult communication pattern with your spouse or even if you're not, this book can help you wade through the ocean of words we all should and shouldn't use when trying to communicate effectively with our spouses. We often tend to say things that we regret when we're tense or defensive. Dr. Eggerichs teaches you how to put your words in such a way that you can say what you need to without belittling your spouse. When speaking in everyday non-defensive converasations it is still so easy to be misunderstood and when you get a grasp on how the male or female mind thinks it really does help!! We don't all think alike and, believe it or not, there are ways to communicate properly with the opposite sex! I would highly recommend this book to anyone in a relationship whether it is healthy or on the rocks. We can ALL use a little help in expressing ourselves more effectively.
